Nova Scotia PCs gather in Antigonish this weekend
HALIFAX – The provincial executive of the Progressive Conservative Party of Nova Scotia will be meeting Saturday, March 27, in Antigonish’s John Paul Centre. It will be the organization’s first face to face meeting since the party’s provincial annual meeting held in Halifax last month.

In June 2009 I was asked and I agreed to assume the responsibilities of the leader in the interim until delegates chose their next leader at the convention in October 2010. I was advised by the Party President that this recommendation from Caucus to Provincial Party executive received unanimous support from members of the executive.

The convention will take place at the Westin Nova Scotia Hotel from February 5-7.
Helen Gillis, chair of the 2010 annual meeting committee, said she is pleased to announce that the Honourable Flora MacDonald will be guest speaker at the Saturday luncheon on February 6. The luncheon will commemorate the sixty years of service by the Nova Scotia PC Women’s Association.

Scott Armstrong, who was elected Conservative MP in Monday’s federal by-election, said he owes it to his new constituents to focus on representing them full time in the House of Commons. He submitted a letter of resignation to provincial Progressive Conservative leader Karen Casey earlier today.

HALIFAX, NS – Nova Scotia’s Progressive Conservatives will be holding their leadership convention at the Cunard Centre in Halifax on October 29th and 30th of 2010.
The party’s executive committee ratified the date and rules for the convention at a weekend meeting in Windsor.

At a meeting yesterday in Halifax, the party’s provincial executive chose a leadership convention for November 5-6, 2010, at a location to be determined in the Halifax Regional Municipality.
