Chris was first elected to the House of Assembly as the MLA for Argyle in 2003 and was re-elected in 2006 and 2009.Prior to being elected, Chris worked for many years as a broadcaster, salesperson, economic development professional and fisherman in Southwestern Nova Scotia.His extensive experience includes serving as Nova Scotia's Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Minister of Health, Minister of Community Services and Minister of Acadian Affairs. Chris is House Leader for the Progressive Conservative Caucus and he is a member of the Assembly Matters, Human Resources, Internal Affairs and Law Amendments Committees. He is also a member of the House of Assembly Management Commission.Chris and his wife, Anne, have two sons, André and Alec. They live in Belleville.
