Peter is a lifetime resident of Nova Scotia. He has spent most of his life living in Kings County. Peter was born in Wolfville and raised in Hants Border to teacher parents Reg and Elsie Harrison.
Peter went to school at Gaspereau and LE Shaw elementary, followed by graduation from Horton District High School in 1983. He graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management, while serving as a special constable for the Town of Hantsport.
Peter has had a distinguished sales career with Hostess Frito-Lay having received many awards for sales and recognition achievements. Peter went on to being asked to serve as Executive Assistant to the Minister of Environment, Labour and Workforce Development, and Agriculture. He then, continued on with Management positions with Scotian Gold and JW Mason’s before returning to the PC Caucus office in 2014 where he has held several positions.
An active political volunteer, he has served in local PC associations as president, secretary and regional coordinator. He has also served on the provincial executive as vice president. Peter has been involved in his community with Kings Hants Special Olympics, and Kingswood Camp as chairperson, treasurer and secretary. He has been involved with youth through participation in local churches in Hantsport, Kentville and New Minas. At New Minas Baptist Church, he was involved with the marketing committee during their $1.2 million capital campaign, which included an addition and funding for the much needed expansion of the New Minas Children’s Centre. Peter continues to be active with youth on a weekly basis leading small groups with elementary children and annually, organizes kitchen duties, with his wife Dana, for a youth retreat feeding 450 youth and leaders in the fall. This event is where they met in 1998.
