Valerie White, a social worker with more than 30 years of public service in social work, policy and planning, is qualified and ready to tackle serious issues concerning Nova Scotians. She was appointed CEO of the Nova Scotia Senior Citizens' Secretariat in January 2007, as well as having served as Executive Director and as Chief Administrative Officer. Having extensive experience working with provincial government departments, seniors and seniors' organizations concerned with aging, Valerie understands the concerns of seniors in Nova Scotia.
She represents Nova Scotia on the Federal, Provincial and Territorial Committee of Officials for the Ministers Responsible for Seniors. Valerie is also a member of numerous professional associations including the Canadian Association on Gerontology, the Nova Scotia Association of Social Workers and the Institute of Public Administration of Canada. Her dedication to seniors, Veterans and Public Service has been recognized by the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal award.
She is an active volunteer with the Rotary and has been a Trustee of Ross Farm Museum from 2001 to 2015.
