PRESTON, NS – Long-time community activist and former Chair of the Halifax Regional School Board, Irvine Carvery will be the Progressive Conservative Party’s candidate in Preston-Dartmouth in the next provincial election. He was officially acclaimed Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Carvery is excited about putting his name forward.
“I’m honoured to have the opportunity to work with the people of Preston-Dartmouth,” says Carvery. “Nova Scotians want change and I look forward to speaking with them about how we can make all our communities safer, healthier and more prosperous for everyone.”
Carvery believes in the vision that Jamie Baillie has for the province and knows the Progressive Conservative leader has an action-oriented, pro-growth plan that can get Nova Scotia moving in the right direction.
“Jamie Baillie is a principled and experienced leader,” says Carvery. “With Jamie Baillie as Premier, we will grow the economy and invest in important priorities like health care, education and infrastructure. I’m excited to work with him to bring back good governance to Nova Scotia.”
Baillie says Carvery’s wealth of experience will be of great benefit in the next Progressive Conservative government.
“I have no doubt that Irvine will represent the people of Preston-Dartmouth with integrity, compassion and common sense, “said Baillie. “He’s spent his life working to build communities and empower everyday people. He will be a strong addition to the Legislature.”
