Argyle-Barrington MLA Chris d’Entremont is wishing all fishers in Lobster Fishing Area (LFA) 33 and 34 a safe and plentiful lobster season.

It was announced today that dumping day for LFA 33 and 34 would kick off lobster season on Saturday, December 1.

d’Entremont says it was unfortunate that the season was delayed due to inclement weather and said safety was a driving factor.

“It has definitely been frustrating for the people here to wait for an answer, but their safety should always be the top priority,” says d’Entremont.

d’Entremont says he has no doubt that the fishers will be hard at work over the next few weeks and are sure to have another successful season.

“Despite this hiccup, I’m confident that the hardworking people of LFA 33 and 34 are in for another bountiful lobster season,” says d’Entremont. “Fair winds and following seas- take care of each other and be safe.”
