HALIFAX, NS – Today Progressive Conservative leader Jamie Baillie unveiled his plan to create up to 20,000 jobs in Nova Scotia.

The Dexter NDP, meanwhile, has again resorted to mistruths and inaccuracies in a desperate attempt to deflect from their failed jobs record.

FACT: Under the Dexter NDP’s watch, 2,700 full-time jobs have been lost in Nova Scotia.

FACT: Statistics Canada recently released updated job numbers showing 14 per cent of the jobs in Southern Nova Scotia, where the Dexter NDP hold a majority of the seats, have been lost since their election in 2009. Based on a three month moving average, it’s the largest percentage loss in Canada.

FACT: Families are leaving. Interprovincial outmigration increased by 32 per cent, or 7,500 people, since 2009, while interprovincial immigration decreased by 11 per cent.

FACT: The NDP committed in 2009 to create 8,800 jobs over four years, which is another broken election promise.

A Jamie Baillie Progressive Conservative government will create up to 20,000 new jobs through lower taxes, frozen power rates and stopping wasteful spending.
