PC leader says Chaisson’s management experience makes her a perfect fit for the next Tory government

CHESTER, NS – Julie Chaisson, Executive Director of the Halifax Seaport Farmer’s Market, will be the Progressive Conservative candidate for Chester-St. Margaret’s in the upcoming provincial election. She was officially acclaimed on March 28th. Chaisson has over 30 years of experience in senior management roles within six sectors.

As a business change management specialist, she has worked in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. Chaisson has been recognized for her strengths in team leadership, strategic planning and implementation.

Chaisson says she is running because Chester-St. Margaret’s has struggled under both the Liberals and the NDP and it is time for an optimistic, pro-growth agenda.

“It’s time for change,” says Chaisson. “I’m running because I’m committed to the tremendous potential of my community. I see a better future for all families in Chester St. Margaret’s. The best way for me to deliver change is as a member of Jamie Baillie’s new Progressive Conservative team.”

Chaisson says she hears the frustration from the community and she’s ready to stand with residents and to fight for a more prosperous future. She is ready to hit the doorsteps and spread Jamie Baillie’s vision for Nova Scotia’s future.

“Jamie Baillie understands that the greatest investment we can make is in our people,” says Chaisson. “By investing in our economy, we’re investing in people. We’re going to create jobs, so families can stay at home and so newcomers can establish roots. That’s what Nova Scotia needs right now.”

Baillie is thrilled to welcome Chaisson to the growing Progressive Conservative team.

“With Julie’s extensive experience both in business and as a volunteer, I know the people of Chester-St. Margaret’s will be well represented in the House of Assembly,” says Baillie. “We will be counting on her skills and experience when we form the next government.”

Chaisson resides in Chester Basin with her husband, Mike.
