Alward and his Progressive Conservative majority government were sworn into office Tuesday, October 12. Alward's PCs won 42 out of 55 seats, making political history by defeating an incumbent government after only one term in office. "David Alward's PCs are an example that other Progressive Conservatives can learn from. Alward and his team presented a strong alternative to a Liberal government that, after only four years, was taking New Brunswick in the wrong direction,” said Alice McCarron, 2010 Leadership Convention Co-Chair. “With the Darrell Dexter NDP putting Nova Scotia on the wrong path of higher taxes, more debt and mismanagement, our party has a duty to rebuild to give Nova Scotians a better choice with our new leader Jamie Baillie."
