MacFarlane and MLAs talk healthcare in Cape Breton; join panel on women in politics

The panel, titled “We Rise: Women in Politics” was hosted by CB Voices and Equal Voice Nova Scotia to discuss issues related to women’s involvement in the political process.

On Thursday evening, PC Leader Karla MacFarlane along with Cape Breton Richmond MLA Alana Paon and Cumberland North MLA Elizabeth Smith-McCrossin joined a panel of women political leaders across the province.

Friday morning, MacFarlane, Paon, Smith-McCrossin and Alfie MacLeod met with doctors to discuss the state of healthcare in Cape Breton. Healthcare has been a major focus of the PC team in the Legislature as stories are reported on daily about the crisis in the healthcare system.

MacFarlane and MacLeod later met with CBRM Deputy Mayor Eldon MacDonald and councillors to discuss priorities for the municipality.

Alana Paon in her role as the PC Business Critic met with the business community to discuss economic growth and opportunities for Cape Breton.
