Detailed, transparent answers needed for victims

INVERNESS, NS – Inverness Progressive Conservative candidate and PC Justice critic Allan MacMaster today welcomed the announcement the federal government will conduct an internal review of its involvement in the case of Ernest Fenwick MacIntosh.

“It’s a step forward, a step toward getting answers for the victims,” said MacMaster. “We’ve been pushing for a full review of federal and provincial failings.”

MacMaster said many questions remain as to what went wrong between levels of government and their departments.

“What we need are detailed, transparent answers on a number of critical questions that the victims can trust,” said MacMaster. “We’ll be watching to make sure the promised review delivers – fully.”

“I want to make sure the quality of the answers and the transparency is every bit as good as a full public inquiry and if not, that’s where we should go, that’s what the victims should have,” said MacMaster.
