Baillie says Donahoe’s experiences in education make him a strong new addition to PC team

HALIFAX, NS – Teacher Matthew Donahoe will be the Progressive Conservative candidate for Halifax Needham in the upcoming provincial election.

Donahoe, a graduate of the University of New Brunswick and Acadia, has deep roots in North End Halifax. He says he wants to be part of positive change for Halifax Needham and all Nova Scotia.

“Stephen McNeil’s Liberals are taking Nova Scotia in the wrong direction and it’s time for a change at the top,” said Donahoe. “We need to stop cutting and slashing. It’s time to start growing so we can make our province a better place to live for the next generation. Jamie Baillie and the Progressive Conservatives have a vision for the province and an action plan to move us forward. I’m thrilled to be joining
their team.”

Baillie says Donahoe’s experiences in the classroom will be a benefit for the next Progressive Conservative government as the Tories work to undo the damage Stephen McNeil has done to the education system.

“Matt has real experience working in our classrooms and understands what needs to be done to create a positive learning environment for our young people,” said Baillie. “We will be relying on his first-hand knowledge as we do the hard work of making our classes more responsive to the needs of parents, teachers and students.”

Donahoe lives with his wife Marsha and children Kieran and Nathaniel.
