McNeil still not upfront about high tax, high spend plans

HALIFAX, NS – Stephen McNeil still has questions to answer about when he will provide families with meaning tax relief and stop piling new debt onto the backs of our children following tonight’s leaders’ debate says Halifax Chebucto Progressive Conservative candidate Christine Dewell.

“Stephen McNeil failed to tell Nova Scotians when he would stop the wasteful spending that jeopardizes our children’s future or make life more affordable for families,” said Dewell. “After tonight’s debate, the only thing we know about Stephen McNeil is that he still supports almost all of Darrell Dexter’s bad policies, including protecting the gold-plated MLA pension plan.”

Dewell says Nova Scotians who watched the debate will be pleased by Progressive Conservative leader Jamie Baillie’s performance and by how he drew stark contrast between his own policies and Stephen McNeil’s.

“Stephen McNeil’s plans will only lead to more high taxes, more high power rates, more wasteful spending and fewer jobs,” said Dewell. “Nova Scotians are looking for a leader like Jamie Baillie who will turn our economy around by lowering taxes, freezing power rates, stopping wasteful spending and creating more jobs.”
