NDP promises four more years of failure

HALIFAX, NS – Progressive Conservative leader Jamie Baillie responded to the Dexter NDP’s platform launch today by blasting the government’s four years of failure and broken promises.

“Imagine another four years like the last four years,” said Baillie. “The Premier’s plan is the exact same as the one he presented four years ago which led to 2,700 jobs lost, power rate increases of almost 30 percent and the highest taxes in Canada.”

Before the last election the NDP made seven key commitments. Baillie was quick to point out that the NDP has failed to deliver on all of them.

Baillie says Nova Scotians will be particularly offended by the Dexter NDP’s claim that they will lower the HST.

“Darrell Dexter told Nova Scotians four years ago that he would not raise taxes and he broke that promise as soon as he got elected,” said Baillie. “The very fact that he would make that same promise again and expect us to believe him is a slap in the face to hardworking Nova Scotia taxpayers.”

Baillie says it’s time to bring forward real change for Nova Scotia families. That’s why a PC government will create good jobs by freezing power rates, cutting taxes, making the tough choices the other parties avoid and putting an end to the NDP-Liberal reckless overspending.

The Progressive Conservatives look forward to bringing their own platform forward during the election campaign.
