PC Nova Scotia - Premier MacDonald leads by example and orders release of PC donations

Darrell Dexter should come clean on how many union donations the NDP has received

HALIFAX - In an act of leadership, Premier Rodney MacDonald has ordered the Chair of the PC Nova Scotia Fund to compile and release the names of donors and the amounts of every donation to the PC campaign. The Premier is calling on Darrell Dexter and the NDP to follow his lead.

"In the coming days, we will be releasing our information," said the Premier. "Darrell Dexter and the NDP have already received $45,000 in inappropriate union donations that we know about. Nova Scotians deserve to see the full influence of union money in the NDP campaign."

"Darrell Dexter's campaign has refused to give back a $5,000 cheque from a union that is currently under investigation by Elections Nova Scotia," said MacDonald. "Until Darrell Dexter returns the $5,000 donation from the Mainland Nova Scotia Building and Construction Trades Council and releases his whole list of donors, he does not deserve the trust of Nova Scotians."
