Dexter bows to pressure from Premier MacDonald
NDP still refuses to return $5,000 donation from union under investigation
HALIFAX - Darrell Dexter bowed to pressure today from Premier Rodney MacDonald and now says he plans to release his donations list before Election Day.
Dexter and the NDP still refuse to return a $5,000 donation that they have received from the Mainland Nova Scotia Building and Construction Trades Council, a union currently under investigation by Elections Nova Scotia.
"Darrell Dexter has failed another leadership test and continues to hang on to a $5,000 donation from a union currently under investigation," said PC spokesperson Jordi Morgan.
"This is a disturbing pattern," said Morgan. "First Darrell Dexter gave back the money only after he was caught and now he is releasing a list of donors only after the Premier demanded he do so."
"Nova Scotians deserve better," Morgan stated.
