PC Nova Scotia - Premier MacDonald says his leadership on the economy is getting results

HALIFAX – Nova Scotia Premier Rodney MacDonald says new job numbers reported today show that his record on the economy is a proven one and his plan for the future is the right one.

Premier MacDonald referred to Statistics Canada job numbers reported today that show Nova Scotia posted a net increase of 3,600 jobs last month. This is a positive move despite Canada's unemployment rate reaching an 11 year high.

“The investments we have been making and the plan we have in place will continue to help Nova Scotia,” said the Premier. “Our party has made a steadfast commitment to maintaining a strong economy and helping Nova Scotians through this global economic downturn."

“Our economic action plan, Building for Growth, will make sure that Nova Scotia continues to weather the economic storm,” added the Premier. “This increase in jobs is positive, but our party is committed to a total of 20,000 new jobs.”
