PC Nova Scotia - NDP hiding donations

There is no more time for delays, say Tories

HALIFAX - Progressive Conservatives continue today to push for the NDP to match their level of transparency on elections donations before Nova Scotians go to the polls on Tuesday.

"The NDP continue to hide their individual donations from Nova Scotians," said PC Party spokesman Jordi Morgan.

"We still have not heard clearly from the NDP about their donations and about whether or not they have had to return any more donations," said Morgan. "Time is running out for them to come clean to Nova Scotians before Election Day."

Morgan says nothing short of full disclosure is acceptable. "While the NDP consult lawyers, threaten radio stations and wait for written responses from officials, nothing is being disclosed to the voters."

The NDP told the Chronicle Herald that they are awaiting written advice from the Chief Electoral Officer, who has already told them verbally to check with their own lawyers about releasing their donations list.

The Progressive Conservatives have asked the Chief Electoral Officer to engage the RCMP to investigate illegal contributions made to the NDP during the election campaign.
