Sympathy Notes: To Ritchie Cotton & Family (Richmond) on the passing of his mother; To Winnie Hutchinson (Dartmouth East) on the passing of her husband Graham on August 6; To Marilyn Streatch (Colchester – Musq. Valley) on the passing of her mother “Kay” Emblay on August 9; To Rick & Patricia Grant (Halifax Atlantic) on the passing of Pat’s mother, Gladys Corbin on August 13; We were also saddened to note the passing of Mr. Bruce Oland (Halifax Citadel) on August 6th . Mr. Oland was a member of the Sir Charles Tupper Society and a long time party supporter.

Special Occasions: Robert & Ann Greer (Victoria – The Lakes) celebrated their 50th Anniversary with family & friends in August. Robert is the District 2 VP on the provincial executive.

PC Party Leader Karen Casey: Statement of condolence on the passing of the Honourable Bill Gillis

HALIFAX, NS - Progressive Conservative Party leader Karen Casey today expressed her condolences on the passing of former Member of the Legislature and cabinet minister Bill Gillis of Antigonish.

"Few can match the dedication and service that Bill Gillis contributed to this province," said Casey. "He had the common touch. He was not only a distinguished member of cabinet, but the kind of man who took note of the milestones in the lives of the people he served."

Casey expressed condolences to Gillis' family and friends.
