INVERNESS, NS - The Progressive Conservative Party will be represented by Allan MacMaster in the October 20th by-election in Inverness.

Over 300 supporters packed the Inverness Fire Hall today and selected MacMaster, 34, an investment advisor from Judique.

MacMaster is a Business Administration graduate of St. Francis Xavier University and now works for one of North America’s leading full service investment firms. He was also an assistant to former Inverness MLA Rodney MacDonald.

"I will draw upon my past experience working in government to continue the progress made in Inverness County over the past ten years," said MacMaster. "I look forward to having the opportunity to speak up for the interests of the County of Inverness and the Town of Port Hawkesbury."

MacMaster says he hopes to focus on diversifying the local economy and generating opportunities for people who want to live here.

"A lot of challenges are solved for people when they are able to earn a living and raise families in supportive communities like we have here in Inverness County."

Progressive Conservative Party leader Karen Casey said MacMaster has deep roots in Inverness and will be a strong voice for that constituency in the legislature.

"I would like to congratulate Allan on his successful nomination," said Casey. "There is now much work to be done, and we look forward to continuing the tradition of strong Progressive Conservative representation in Inverness."
