HALIFAX – Nova Scotia’s Progressive Conservatives will gather in Halifax in February for their 2010 Annual General Meeting.
The convention will take place at the Westin Nova Scotia Hotel from February 5-7.
Helen Gillis, chair of the 2010 annual meeting committee, said she is pleased to announce that the Honourable Flora MacDonald will be guest speaker at the Saturday luncheon on February 6. The luncheon will commemorate the sixty years of service by the Nova Scotia PC Women’s Association.
“Our Annual General Meeting is considered to be one of the best political meetings in Canada,” said Rob Batherson, president of the Progressive Conservative Party of Nova Scotia. “And this year’s program ensures that tradition will continue.”
Highlights of the 2010 meeting include a keynote address from party leader Karen Casey, the party’s annual business meeting, the election of a new provincial executive, workshops on organization and an overview of the party’s fall 2010 leadership convention by co-chairs Alice McCarron and George White. On Friday evening, delegates will pay tribute to former premier and party leader Rodney MacDonald.
