Nova Scotia’s PC Party annual meeting set for February 10-12 in Halifax
HALIFAX – Progressive Conservative Leader Jamie Baillie will kick off the 2012 Annual General Meeting of the Nova Scotia PC Party with the keynote address on Friday night, February 10.
The party will hold their three-day annual meeting on February 10-12 at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel.
Baillie says his PC Party is the alternative to the special interest-driven agenda of the NDP and the big deficits, higher taxes, higher power rates and job losses that come with it.
“Instead of focusing on the economy, the NDP raised taxes to the highest levels in Canada, brought in job killing labour laws and forced Nova Scotians to pay more for power with their expensive electricity plan,” said Baillie.
“We are offering a better way forward for Nova Scotians in the next election,” continued Baillie. “The PC Party is committed to creating the right conditions for job growth, leading to a stronger economy and tax relief for Nova Scotian families.”
At this year’s meeting, extended delegate sessions will be held on Saturday. Progressive Conservative delegates will engage in policy development that creates jobs and opportunities in all parts of Nova Scotia.
“Our grassroots members are struggling with rising costs and job losses in their communities,” says Baillie. “This meeting is an opportunity for us to come together as a party and focus our efforts on standing up for these families in the next election.”
On Saturday morning, February 11, there is a special breakfast event scheduled. Delegates will hear from Defence Minister Peter MacKay about how Nova Scotia can best take advantage of the shipbuilding contract.
Baillie will conclude the weekend meeting with a Leader’s Question and Answer session on Sunday, February 12.
