Cole Harbour- Eastern Passage MLA Barbara Adams is thrilled that Nova Scotia will now honour the courage and resilience of those who have survived cancer.
Today, the Nova Scotia Legislature passed a law establishing the first Sunday of June as Cancer Survivors’ Day.
Adams says this day will also be for the families, friends and those this disease has affected most.
“We have all been affected one way or another by this horrible disease,” says Adams. “Now, we can come together and rally behind those who have fought and survived.”
Adams says she is appreciative to her colleagues in the Legislature for supporting this very important bill.
“It’s been a long journey to bring us to this day,” says Adams. “I want to extend my sincerest thank you to Nova Scotian Cancer survivors, and all of those who helped enshrine Cancer Survivors’ Day in law.”
