Progressive Conservative leader Karla MacFarlane announced today that Northside-Westmount MLA Eddie Orrell will be the new Progressive Conservative Health critic.
Orrell worked extensively in the healthcare system as a physiotherapist and understands the healthcare challenges facing Nova Scotians.
“Eddie is a strong advocate for a better, stronger healthcare system,” says MarFarlane. “He has an important perspective, with extensive frontline experience. He is a passionate advocate for patients and healthcare workers and will do a great job holding the Liberal government accountable for not providing adequate healthcare services.”
Orrell appreciates the confidence and responsibility given to him by MacFarlane and will work hard every day to improve healthcare services.
“Helping people is a passion of mine. The healthcare system is in crisis. ER closures, doctor shortages and chronic understaffing are causing real, dangerous conditions for people,” said Orrell. “Improving access to good quality healthcare is desperately needed. I recognize the importance of working with those on the front lines to improve healthcare for patients.”
Orrell will also remain the PC critic for Labour and Advanced Education.
