KENTVILLE, NS – Kings North Progressive Conservative candidate, John Lohr is encouraging residents to take advantage of a unique opportunity to invest in residential solar energy projects.
Nova Solar Capital, a Kentville-based business, is offering an attractive way to finance the installation of Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Panel systems on residential properties. They are working to increase solar power by offering a Community Economic Development Investment Fund (CEDIF). Homeowners can use their RRSP to invest in solar energy and receive Equity Tax Credits.
“I am really proud to have such an innovative company located in Kentville,” says Lohr. “They will have a huge impact on the spread of solar energy in our province.”
Originally focused on Hammonds Plains and Kings County, Nova Solar Capital is now booking installations in the greater Halifax area, Annapolis Valley, Truro and the South Shore.
By using RRSP money in Community Economic Development Investment Fund and net metering with Nova Scotia Power, green energy has become a very viable option says Lohr.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for anyone wanting affordable solar power in their own home,” says Lohr. “This is exactly the type of innovative economic development our province needs.”
