HALIFAX, NS – Once again, the desperate Dexter NDP have decided to play fast and loose with the truth. Today, NDP Health Minister Dave Wilson implied the Progressive Conservatives would create a health “superboard.”

True to form, the Dexter NDP don’t like to let facts get in the way of a good argument.

For their benefit, here are the facts.

FACT: A PC government will reduce the number of district health authorities from 10 to three – one for the Capital Region, one for the IWK and one for the rest of Nova Scotia.

FACT: The PC plan to streamline administration and bureaucratic costs will save $60 million. The savings will be redirected into front line health care services, such as nurses and doctors.

FACT: The PC plan will also reduce administrative costs in health care by adopting the full report by Ernst & Young that the Dexter NDP ignored.

FACT: For four years, Dave Wilson and the Dexter NDP defended the bloated bureaucracy in health care and put special interests ahead of patients.
