Cumberland South MLA Tory Rushton extends his congratulations to Ross McKellar and Teresa Simpson for their donation of a 14-metre white spruce tree that will be given to Boston.

Every year Nova Scotia thanks Boston by gifting them a beautiful Christmas tree for sending help and supplies during the aftermath of the Halifax Explosion.

“On behalf of our community, I would like to thank Ross and Teresa for their generosity,” says Rushton. “This is a very proud moment for our community. It’s an honour that Oxford will play a role in thanking Boston for their kindness and compassion in the aftermath of the Halifax Explosion.”

Rushton will be attending the public cutting ceremony and encourages the community to join. It will be held on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018 at 10:30 a.m.
