Statement from PC leader Jamie Baillie on the retirement of MLA Maureen MacDonald

HALIFAX, NS – Progressive Conservative leader Jamie Baillie thanks former interim NDP leader Maureen MacDonald for her invaluable contribution to Halifax Needham and all of Nova Scotia during her 18 years as an MLA, four years as a cabinet minister and two years as interim leader of the NDP.

“Maureen has worked extremely hard and dedicated so much of herself to public life. She will be remembered for her strength and effective advocacy in politics, whatever the issue – big or small. Maureen has left a lasting legacy in Halifax Needham, the legislature and our province. It truly is a pleasure to know her and work with her. I thank her for her fair-mindedness and professionalism. I will miss her in the legislature. From the entire PC Caucus, I wish Maureen all the best in her retirement and her future endeavours.”
