Residents know that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Here are five reasons the McNeil Liberals are doing damage control:

Doctors
Stephen McNeil likes to say there is no crisis in the province’s failing healthcare system, but families in Kings and Digby counties who have been left in the wake of his broken promise know better. There are 100,000 people still waiting for Stephen McNeil’s last promise of a doctor for every Nova Scotian to come true. Rural communities like Berwick and Digby are desperate for doctors, but it could be years before people receive the health care they deserve.

Mental Health
The McNeil Liberals deny the crisis in mental health, but residents in Kings and Digby counties know better. Keith Irving and Gordon Wilson failed to make mental health a priority. Families suffered while loved ones fell through the cracks of a broken system. When they needed help the most, they found closed doors and no support from the McNeil Liberals.

Wait Times
Stephen McNeil left sick and vulnerable Nova Scotians suffering on wait lists while he played political games with the health care system. Residents of Kings and Digby counties waiting for hip and knee replacements have been left to linger because Nova Scotia has among the worst wait times in the country. The McNeil Liberals let the province fall behind and wait lists for crucial surgeries continue to grow, year-after-year.

Classrooms
Stephen McNeil, with the help of Keith Irving and Gordon Wilson, waged war on our teachers, caused chaos in our classrooms, and left a weakened education system in his wake. The McNeil Liberals locked kids out of schools and imposed a contract on teachers. Irving and Wilson failed to make any significant changes to improve classrooms.

Highways
The McNeil Liberals tried to pull a fast one on residents of Kings and Digby counties. Keith Irving and Gordon Wilson helped play on the fears and emotions of people who wanted Highway 101 to be safer for everyone. The McNeil Liberals threatened to dig deeper into the residents’ pockets first when that should have been the last option. Residents in the Valley and Digby deserve better than the political games the McNeils Liberals are playing.
