Tim Houston – Leader of Nova Scotia’s Progressive Conservative Party

Leader of Nova Scotia's Progressive Conservatives

Tim entered politics to do things differently. Elected as Leader of Nova Scotia’s Progressive Conservatives in 2018, Tim is bringing together a team of Nova Scotians to form our province’s next government.

Tim grew up in a military family. Born in Halifax, Tim’s family moved around as a child before moving back to Fairview in Halifax where he grew up. He graduated from Saint Mary’s University and began his career as a chartered accountant in Bedford.

After Tim and his wife Carol were married, they moved to Bermuda for several years where they had their children, Paget and Zachary. They both realized they wanted to raise their kids back home, so they moved to Pictou County where they continue to reside today.

After becoming frustrated watching the decisions being made by government, Tim was driven to run to be the MLA for Pictou East in 2013. He doesn’t have a degree in political science and had no interest in politics growing up. He simply saw running for office as a way to make positive changes in Nova Scotia.

As an accountant, Tim understands numbers. As a father of two, he knows the importance of building a province where Nova Scotians can succeed here at home. Tim values a government which is accountable and focused on creating opportunities. A government focused on building a more prosperous Nova Scotia.
